NEWS /Eight snowmobiles were prevented from entering the territory of the Rila Monastery Nature Park
Experts from the Directorate of the "Rila Monastery" Nature Park at the Forestry Executive Agency prevented the entry of eight snowmobiles into the territory of the park in the area of the Iliina river. The violation was detected today during monitoring of the state of the brown bear population.
Forest officials notice from afar the entry of jeeps and vans loaded with snowmobiles into the protected area of the river. The experts react to the moment by stopping them and redirecting them to move on the routes authorized for their use.
The Law on Forests introduced a restriction on the movement of sports bikes and four-wheeled motor vehicles (including snowmobiles) in forest areas. They are allowed to move only on designated routes, determined by order in a special regulation.
The "Rila Monastery" Nature Park calls on citizens, upon detection of a violation in the forest areas of the park, to call 112, in order to promptly carry out an inspection, identify the violators, and take all legal actions.
