Today we celebrate World Tourism Day. The purpose of this day is to inform the public worldwide about the importance of tourism as well as its social, political, financial and cultural value to all people of the world.
Every year the World Tourism Day is dedicated to a specific theme and this year it is "Tourism and Rural Development".
Rila Monastery Nature Park is a protected area with exceptional biological diversity and cultural and historical heritage on a national and international scale, annually attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors.
Numerous pedestrian tourist routes pass through the territory of the park with a high intensity of attendance, namely:
Rila Monastery - Kirilova Polyana - Dry Lake - Kobilino Branishte
Rila Monastery - Fish Lakes - Smardlivoto Lake
Rila Monastery - Maliovitsa
Rila Monastery - The Seven Rila Lakes
Rila monastery - Radovichka River - Macedonia hut
International tourist route E -4 Pyrenees – Alps – – Olympus
All these routes are well-marked and appropriately colored by the park directorate.
